Building capacity, building responsibility.

Oct 2025

Alumina sits within some of the most dynamic industries of our time, from the ceramics that protect, to the substrates that power electronics, to the components inside electric vehicles. Demand for these materials is growing fast, and with it comes the responsibility to expand production in a way that is both reliable and responsible.

That is the context for our new calcined alumina plant in Huangdao, Qingdao Free Trade Zone. With this new facility, we are doubling our local capacity and consolidating advanced calcination and grinding technology in one location. For our customers, this means better control, greater efficiency, and the ability to meet rising demand without affecting our quality standards.

Equally important is how we build. The Huangdao expansion has been designed under our Mission NeutrAL framework, in compliance with strict emission limits and embedding sustainability into process decisions from the start. It reflects a simple principle: growth should not come at the expense of the environment.

This investment is about both scale and the kind of legacy we intend to leave in China and across the global alumina network we are part of.
