A dense refractory material, Almatis tabular alumina is a well-sintered, crystalline alpha alumina used as both a refractory aggregate and as fines addition to the matrix.

Tabular Alumina is the material of choice in unshaped and shaped high performance refractories used in a variety of industries (steel, foundry, cement, glass, petrochemical, ceramic and waste incineration). Other common non-refractory applications include its use in kiln furniture and for metal filtration.

SLA-92
A super lightweight aggregate, SLA-92 is a non-fibrous, high-purity insulating aggregate with microporosity based on calcium hexaluminate. This unique combination gives the material a low thermal conductivity and offers an excellent resistance to thermal shock and provides a high refractoriness.

Bonite
Bonite is a synthetic dense refractory aggregate based on calcium hexaluminate. The Almatis high temperature sintering process pre-reacts Bonite to provide a stable aggregate volume with no new phases forming during refractory heat-up.

This unique specialty refractory aggregate is valued for:
- Low wettability in aluminum smelting
- High chemical resistance to a cement kiln's alkaline environment
- High refractoriness and low solubility in iron containing slag, for steelmaking
